10 Treading Carefully, the resulting hexagram, describes a delicate situation in which conduct is everything. Moving with awareness and gentleness can make even possible rivals give ground, and perhaps turn them into allies. Together they say that observation is your best preparation for tricky terrain. Read the people around you, notice what sets them off, and choose your steps accordingly. Watch for acting before you've understood the ground; careful attention now tends to turn would-be opponents into support.
