Well-Being becomes The Flame

What this change means

Fire rises twice: the second, fourth and top lines move, both trigrams become Fire, and Well-Being turns into 30 The Flame. The two judgments share the weight. Well-Being speaks of harmony and of better people and conditions coming in. 30 The Flame speaks of clarity: your inner self guides you toward your goals, and a generous attitude, one that shares your light, increases what you gain and achieve. The image is of the great person carrying the brightness forward to light the four directions. Taken together, peace becomes radiance. What you've received isn't meant to be kept in a closed room. Let your clarity show, share what you understand, and let your warmth reach the people around you. Watch only that the flame needs fuel: stay connected to what feeds you inside, so the light you give stays steady instead of flaring and fading.

What to read, in order

Marked ● is what Zhu Xi's tradition puts at the center for this number of moving lines.

  1. The judgment of 11 Well-Being

A period of well-being, harmony and understanding is coming, and you can enjoy it. People and situations that weren't good for you are moving away, and in their place come people and situations that bring blessings and support. Heaven grants its gifts.

The small goes, the great comes. Good fortune. Success.

  2. The judgment of 30 The Flame

There's clarity in what you do: your inner self guides you toward your goals. A generous attitude helps you, one that leads you to share your light, and this will increase your gains and achievements.

Constancy is favorable. Success. Raising a cow brings good fortune.

  3. Line 2 of 11 Well-Being

It's favorable to take decisive action that gets you out of your comfort zone and to recognize the people around you. There's no need to push anyone away; it's enough to know each person's nature.

Embracing the untilled. Wading across the river; not forgetting the distant; leaving friends behind. So it is honored on the middle way.

  4. Line 4 of 11 Well-Being

Inner wealth lets you genuinely support people going through times of need. This will increase your well-being.

Fluttering. Not rich, with its neighbors. Not on guard, with sincere trust.

  5. Line 6 of 11 Well-Being

The situation may take a turn for the worse. Pay attention and watch for the first signs of decline. If you insist on pressing ahead, there will be loss.

The city wall falls back into the moat. Do not use the army. From the town, orders are proclaimed. Constancy brings distress.
