Excesses becomes Abundance

What this change means

Thunder and lightning arrive together as three lines move, and a strained structure swells into fullness. The two judgments are given equal weight. Excesses speaks of a time beyond the ordinary, when only innovative action and a stronger base keep what you've won from falling. The resulting hexagram, 55 Abundance, describes growth toward a period of satisfaction that will last a while and then wane; enjoy it, and when it fades, stay calm and keep your spirits up. Together they say that fullness and overload are close cousins. When things are going well, it's easy to keep adding until something bends. Enjoy the good season, but keep checking the foundations under it. Take the unusual measures that make it sustainable, and don't build so much on the peak that the decline becomes a collapse.

  4. Line 2 of 28 Excesses

  5. Line 5 of 28 Excesses

When you focus on strengthening ties with those above you but forget to pay attention to those you lead, your success will be limited.

The withered poplar puts out flowers. An old woman takes a young husband. No fault, no praise.
