Shock becomes Excesses

What this change means

Four of the six lines move, turning thunder into wind beneath a lake, so the guidance shifts to the pair of unmoving lines in the new figure. In 28 Excesses, the moment demands unusual measures so that what you've built doesn't give way: check the foundations, strengthen them, and be willing to step outside your comfort zone. Its fourth line says you can receive help from those under you now, but only if giving and receiving stay in balance; if you take advantage, they'll pull away and there will be loss. Its top line speaks of choosing extraordinary undertakings despite the drawbacks. That exposes you to danger and loss, yet leaves the satisfaction of having done everything in your power. Act boldly, but fairly, and with your eyes open.

Thunder comes: danger. Countless cowries are lost; one climbs the nine hills. Do not chase them: in seven days they are found.

  6. Line 3 of 51 Shock

The blows you're taking right now aren't caused by fate. They come more from within, and that makes things harder. Once you realize this, you'll make the corrections and resolve the situation.

Thunder that stuns and stuns. If thunder sets one going, no disaster.

  7. Line 5 of 51 Shock

Obstacles come one after another and seem endless. Still, staying connected to your center and true to your purpose will keep you from losses.

Thunder going and coming: danger. Of much, nothing is lost; there is a duty to carry out.
