Simplicity becomes Leaving Behind

What this change means

Heaven replaces the Earth above the Mountain when the fourth, fifth and top lines move: the ground lifts away and the mountain stands under open sky. Both judgments share the reading, and the first of them asks that you stay unpretentious and just. The resulting hexagram, 33 Leaving Behind, says stepping back or leaving a path right now isn't a failure. It can help you recover strength, think the situation through and set it right; what looks like loss can turn into gain if you let go of what doesn't suit you. Humility makes retreat possible without shame. Someone attached to their image can't step back gracefully. Keep your distance from what harms you, without hostility but with rigor. Take time to regain your footing, and look again at where you're headed. Then, when the direction is clear, pick up again.
