What this change means

A tree grows within the earth: four lines move, the third through the top, and the still lines of 46 Going Up carry the reading. The first says you're only beginning to rise, but doing it with confidence will get you what you want. The second says that sincere words and good manners in your dealings with others will bring success.

So the conflict ends in an ascent, and how you climb matters. Move with confidence, not aggression. Speak honestly and treat people courteously, including those you were at odds with. Watch for carrying resentment upward with you, and for doubting yourself at the very start. A sincere, polite rise tends to meet little resistance and a lot of help.

There is sincere trust, but it is blocked. Caution: stopping halfway brings good fortune; going all the way to the end, misfortune. It is favorable to see the great person. It is not favorable to cross the great river.

  4. Line 3 of 6 Conflict

What you've gained honestly can't be taken from you. Even if gossip comes up, don't be intimidated; hold firm.

Feeding on old virtue. Constancy is in danger; in the end, good fortune. If it serves in the king's affairs, no achievement of its own.

  5. Line 4 of 6 Conflict

Accepting the adverse conditions of this moment without fighting them, and staying flexible, will lead you to success in the middle of difficulties.

Unable to win the lawsuit. Turning back, accepting the decree, changing. Calm constancy brings good fortune.

  6. Line 5 of 6 Conflict

If you've acted rightly, whoever has to make the decisions that involve you will decide in your favor.

    Lawsuit. Great good fortune.

  7. Line 6 of 6 Conflict

Insisting on being right at this moment will only make you lose.

Perhaps a belt of honor is bestowed; before the morning is out, it is stripped away three times.

  8. The judgment of 46 Going Up

You're in a time of rising, and this rise is the fruit of work you've done with dedication. Seeking the help of an important person will bring great success; don't be afraid of that meeting, because everything is favorable now.

Great success. Seeing the great person is of use. Do not worry. Setting out southward brings good fortune.
