Transformation · line 1
Success in Small Matters becomes Abundance
What this change means
The first line moves, and the bird that tries to fly too early is its picture: in a time made for small steps, reaching past what you can manage now tends to bring loss. When this line stirs, the Mountain below turns to Fire, and the stillness that should hold you back starts to burn as eagerness. The resulting hexagram, 55 Abundance, speaks of a full season that lasts for a while and then wanes, and asks you to enjoy it calmly and not grieve when it passes. Put together, the movement warns that a sense of plenty can tempt you to overreach. Whatever fullness comes will come through modest means, not by stretching beyond them. Watch the urge to take off before you're ready. Stay low, keep your efforts in proportion, and let the good spell arrive on its own terms; when it ebbs, keep your spirits up and value what you've already gained.
