What this change means
Lines one, three and five move, and the image becomes Thunder bursting out of Earth. Renewal, where you begin, wants careful judgment about what to alter and good timing for every step, plus the courage to drop what has outlived its use. The resulting hexagram, 16 Passion, brings a surge of drive toward action that you can share with others to gain their help. Balanced, the two say that your renewal can carry people with it, if the enthusiasm is matched by good timing. The resulting hexagram adds a condition: for big ventures to succeed and last, you can't look only after your own interests; the needs of the people working with you count too. So let your energy be contagious, but plan the steps, and make sure the change serves everyone it touches, not just you.
