What this change means
The sixth line leads and the fourth follows. The sixth is the open well with sincere trust: you have the talents to act and the wish to help others, and success is near. The fourth is the brick lining, a time to rethink, focus on opportunities and use your talents. Above, Water becomes Heaven, and the image becomes wind blowing under the sky. The resulting hexagram, 44 Lack of Firmness, warns that you're surrounded by unsuitable people or situations you think you can control, and that without firm limits they'll end up controlling you. So the danger is in the openness itself. An uncovered well serves everyone, including those who'd misuse it. Keep sharing, but reinforce your boundaries as carefully as the well's lining. Decide who and what you let in, and say it clearly. Generosity with firm edges protects both you and what you offer.

It's not about looking for new things but about making use of what you have, or there will be loss.
The town is changed, the well is not. Nothing lost, nothing gained. They come and go, and draw from the well. Nearly there, the rope does not yet reach the well; if the jar breaks, misfortune.
