Overflowing becomes Clearing Obstacles
What this change means
Thunder breaks over Water as the first, third and fifth lines move, and the two judgments stand in balance. Overflowing is about tension that has built up past comfort, to be released openly but tactfully, with generosity to soften it. The resulting hexagram, 40 Clearing Obstacles, describes the relief that comes once obstacles have been overcome one by one, and asks for balance: act quickly and decisively where you can, but don't overrate your abilities, and rest or even step back if you need to. Together they suggest the pressure can finally ease. Say what has to be said, then let go of grudges; release is easier when you're not keeping score. Move while the way is clear, but at a pace you can sustain. A pause now isn't a retreat, just good judgment.
