What this change means
Wind moves over the earth when the fourth and fifth lines turn the upper Fire into Wind. The fifth line leads, and it's generous: keep contributing to others as you advance, and don't worry over what you lose or gain. The fourth warns from just below it that hoarding gain or power will block you. Two attitudes toward what you have, one open and one grasping, side by side. The resulting hexagram, 20 Observing, asks you to look before you act. Right now others take inspiration from you, and you, in turn, need to watch those who inspire you. That makes the choice between giving and hoarding visible to everyone. So observe yourself as well: what are you holding back? Let your example be the open hand, and things tend to unfold at the right moment without being forced.
