Advance becomes Conflict

What this change means

With the second and fifth lines moving, Water forms below Heaven, two forces that pull opposite ways. The fifth line leads with an open hand: keep contributing as you advance, don't regret what you've given, and don't be troubled by loss or gain. The second asks patience with a person who hasn't helped yet; stay open, and they may still come through. The resulting hexagram, 6 Conflict, warns that a dispute is taking shape that action won't settle. Cleverness works better than force, and the wise course is often to recognize you can't resolve it now, let events run, and seek advice from someone who knows the terrain. Your generosity and patience are your best tools here. Watch for the impulse to press the reluctant person, or to keep score; either can turn a slow request into an open quarrel.
