What this change means
Mountain above, thunder below: the jaws. The fourth and fifth lines of Innocence move, Heaven becomes Mountain, and the figure turns into 27 Nourishment. The fifth line leads: an illness you didn't cause needs no anxious medicine, and joy returns. The fourth says what's truly yours can't be taken, so constancy is enough. The resulting hexagram asks you to look after your physical and spiritual nourishment, to take in what's good for you and share it, and to be careful with words and moderate in what you consume. These lines suggest taking care rather than taking action. If you're worn down or troubled by something undeserved, don't reach for drastic fixes. Rest, eat well, choose what you let in, and trust that what's yours remains. Recovery comes through simple, steady care, and from there you can nourish others too.
What to read, in order
Marked ● is what Zhu Xi's tradition puts at the center for this number of moving lines.
- Line 5 of 25 Innocence
If adverse things happen to you that aren't caused by your own negligence, don't worry: little by little things will straighten out until they're back on course.
An undeserved illness. Take no medicine: there will be joy.
- Line 4 of 25 Innocence
No one can take from you what belongs to you, so keep doing the right thing at the right time, and you'll reap the fruits.
Constancy is possible. No fault.
- The judgment of 25 Innocence
If you act with a pure heart, free of hidden motives and without straying from what is right, true to original human nature, you'll let the blessings of heaven reach you. Otherwise you'll meet obstacles and your affairs will become difficult.
Great success. Constancy is favorable. If it is not upright, there is calamity. It is not favorable to have somewhere to go.
- The judgment of 27 Nourishment
Right now you need to take care of your physical and spiritual nourishment, so you have the resources you need in each area, and at the same time help others grow through what you do. Success lies in giving and receiving: take in what is good for you and share it with those around you.
Constancy brings good fortune. Watching the jaws; seeking for oneself what fills the mouth.
