With both moving, Thunder becomes Fire and Heaven becomes Lake, and the figure turns into 49 Renewal, fire within the lake. Its theme is shedding the skin, letting go of what no longer works and taking each step at exactly the right moment. All three texts are about timing. Renewal is called for, but haste could make it misfire. Weigh what really needs changing and what doesn't. Prepare, then move when the season is right. Let go of the old cleanly, without forcing the new to arrive early.

If you act with a pure heart, free of hidden motives and without straying from what is right, true to original human nature, you'll let the blessings of heaven reach you. Otherwise you'll meet obstacles and your affairs will become difficult.
Great success. Constancy is favorable. If it is not upright, there is calamity. It is not favorable to have somewhere to go.

Success lies in taking each step at exactly the right moment, and in weighing what needs to change and what doesn't, what is no longer doing its job. Don't be afraid to let it go: you need to make room for the new to arrive.
