What this change means

Thunder above heaven: four lines move, the second, third, fifth and top, and Innocence becomes 34 Great Manifestation. The still lines of the resulting hexagram give the counsel. The first says that despite your qualities, some unfavorable situations still block you; don't push, but work through obstacles one by one until circumstances give way. The fourth says adverse circumstances yield to your persistence, and relying on your inner power lets you move toward great achievements. The resulting hexagram speaks of having what it takes for big projects, while staying active and keeping thought and action in harmony. With Innocence beneath it, great strength needs a clean use. Don't force your way; persist. Take no step that isn't right. Your power grows more convincing the more patiently and honestly you apply it.

Strength in the toes. Setting out brings misfortune. There is sincere trust.

  2. Line 4 of 34 Great Manifestation, which stays still

Adverse circumstances give way before your persistence. If you rely on your inner power, you'll be able to move toward great achievements.

  3. The judgment of 25 Innocence

If you act with a pure heart, free of hidden motives and without straying from what is right, true to original human nature, you'll let the blessings of heaven reach you. Otherwise you'll meet obstacles and your affairs will become difficult.

  5. Line 3 of 25 Innocence

Watch and act at the right time, because a good deed done at the wrong moment turns out badly.

An undeserved calamity: someone tied up an ox; the traveler takes it, and the calamity falls on the villagers.

  6. Line 5 of 25 Innocence

If adverse things happen to you that aren't caused by your own negligence, don't worry: little by little things will straighten out until they're back on course.

An undeserved illness. Take no medicine: there will be joy.

  7. Line 6 of 25 Innocence

If you try to force things without waiting for the right conditions, you'll go astray and delay getting what you want.

Without falseness. Moving on brings calamity. Nothing is favorable.

  8. The judgment of 34 Great Manifestation

You have what it takes to carry out big projects and achieve extraordinary things. Still, you need to stay active and keep persevering. Thinking and acting in harmony will keep you holding to what is right and will make your achievements last.
