What this change means

The fifth line shines: the light of the noble person, sincere trust, good fortune, and no regret. In practical terms, you get what you want, can enjoy it, and can contribute to the well-being of others. When the line moves, the Fire above becomes Heaven, and heaven and water pull in opposite directions: the resulting hexagram is 6 Conflict. It describes a dispute that action can't solve, where cleverness works better than force, events are best left to take their course, and wise advice helps. The two together are a caution in good times. Success can stir disagreement, perhaps over what you've gained. Keep the trust and generosity that the fifth line describes. Don't fight to defend your position; share where you can, seek counsel, and let the tension settle.

Things are coming together so that success can arrive and you can take on great projects, but some things still haven't fallen into place. So stay alert, so you don't make mistakes born of immaturity, or you'll drift from your goals. This can happen even after you've gotten what you want: you stop, you hesitate, and mistakes happen.

Success. The little fox has nearly crossed and wets its tail. Nothing is favorable.

  3. The judgment of 6 Conflict
