Thrift becomes Inner Integrity

What this change means

Bitter measure is the image of the top line: a restriction so severe that, even held firmly, it brings misfortune, yet regret fades. In practice, some times really do call for extreme limits. This is one of them, an exceptional moment that needs exceptional behavior. Just don't keep it up too long. As this line moves, the Water above becomes Wind, and the hexagram becomes 61 Inner Integrity. That points to what makes a hard restriction bearable and right: inner wholeness. When you act from a sincere, coherent place, it shows outside, and others can trust and follow you. So if you must impose severe limits, on yourself or a situation, do it from conviction, not fear or pride. Then let them go once their moment has passed.
