Abiding becomes Water

What this change means

Water over water: four lines move, and both mountains become the pit, one hazard after another. The two unmoving lines of the new figure speak here. In 29 Water, obstacles keep coming, and you get past them by moving like a stream, not freezing in fear. Its first line warns that pressing on recklessly in your current direction, without watching what's around you, won't bring results. Its fourth line says obstacles can be overcome now only if you open up to help that looks minor but will make the difference. So combine the mountain's attention with water's flow. Look around before moving, accept small help gratefully, and keep going steadily. The pit is passed by those who keep moving with their eyes open, not by those who rush or freeze.

  3. The judgment of 52 Abiding

It's a time of stillness, of staying centered and steady: that's the best way forward in your present situation. There's no action, only a harmonious stillness, and staying that way brings success.

  6. Line 5 of 52 Abiding

Still the jaws; words come in order. Regret vanishes.

  7. Line 6 of 52 Abiding

There's perfect stillness, an inner calm that lets you master what's outside. Success.

    Deep stillness. Good fortune.

  8. The judgment of 29 Water

Just as a stream moves through obstacles and gets past them, following its course without stagnating, you're at a time when obstacles will come one after another, but you'll get past them if you can keep moving. Letting fear paralyze you will only leave you stuck.

There is sincere trust. Only the heart gets through. Going earns esteem.
