What this change means
The fifth and top lines move, and the Lake overhead turns to Fire, so that light rises over light. The top line leads, asking you to measure what can really be changed now, to let overly ambitious plans wait, and to change in substance rather than in appearance. The fifth line gives that realism confidence: renewal comes naturally, guided by a higher will, with trust that doesn't need proof. The resulting hexagram, 30 The Flame, speaks of clarity in what you do, with your inner self guiding you toward your goals. A generous attitude, one that shares your light, tends to increase what you achieve. So trust your sense of direction, keep your changes the right size, and let what you've understood benefit others too. Clarity used for others grows; clarity kept to yourself dims.

- The judgment of 49 Renewal
You're in a time of renewal, like shedding a skin. Open yourself to change and to new ways of doing things. Success lies in taking each step at exactly the right moment, and in weighing what needs to change and what doesn't, what is no longer doing its job. Don't be afraid to let it go: you need to make room for the new to arrive.
When the day has come, there is trust. Great success. Constancy is favorable. Regret vanishes.
