What this change means
Heaven and earth no longer meet: five lines move, all but the second, and the figure becomes Heaven over Earth. That remaining line of 12 Decline holds the advice: even surrounded by hostile people and circumstances, you can get through by holding your strength within. Coming from Darkness, this is the same counsel in another form. You may be among the wrong people still, and conditions aren't right for big decisions. Withdraw to safe ground, keep a low profile, and don't get involved with them whatever they offer. Your inner strength is the thing to protect. Watch for being drawn out by flattery or offers. Hold yourself together quietly; conditions change, and you'll want your strength intact when they do.

- The judgment of 36 Darkness
It's a dark time: circumstances force you to live alongside the wrong people. If you know how to protect yourself, hold on to your integrity, and go unnoticed, without openly showing your light and your talents, you'll stay safe until better times come. However hard they seem, hard times pass too.

- The judgment of 12 Decline
You're surrounded by adverse people and situations. Avoid getting involved with those people, no matter what they offer you. Circumstances aren't good for acting or making decisions; it's time to withdraw to a safe place and wait for conditions to change. It's time to keep a low profile.
