Advance becomes Loss, Then Gain
What this change means
Wind settles below and Mountain above as the second, third and fourth lines move, and the clear sky of Advance clouds over. The starting hexagram promises growth, recognition and help when you ask for it. The resulting hexagram, 18 Loss, Then Gain, says that mistakes have already brought you into a decline. These aren't contradictory. The help and the doors described in the starting hexagram can serve to repair what went wrong, as long as you admit the error and make the needed corrections. Take time to see what caused the loss, act on it, and then give success time to arrive; it rarely comes the same day you fix things. Watch for pride that keeps you from naming the mistake. Asking for help is part of this, and so is using that help to set things right rather than to cover them up.
