Well-Being becomes Simplicity

What this change means

Two lines stir at the base of Well-Being, the first and the second, and Heaven below settles into a Mountain under Earth. The result is 15 Simplicity. The second line leads: step decisively beyond what's comfortable, take in everyone around you without rejecting anyone, and walk the middle way rather than favoring a circle of friends. The first line supports it with its image of grass pulled up roots and all, each clump drawing out the next: the like-minded come with you when you set out. Together they describe a strong, generous move. The resulting hexagram shapes how to carry it. This isn't a moment to boast or show off what you're doing. Keep it simple, act fairly, and let your qualities be noticed on their own. The mountain hidden inside the earth is the picture: real height that doesn't need to announce itself. Be bold in action and modest in display.

It's favorable to take decisive action that gets you out of your comfort zone and to recognize the people around you. There's no need to push anyone away; it's enough to know each person's nature.

Embracing the untilled. Wading across the river; not forgetting the distant; leaving friends behind. So it is honored on the middle way.

  2. Line 1 of 11 Well-Being
