Going Up becomes Lack of Firmness

What this change means

Wind blows under Heaven: the three upper lines move, and the earth above the rising tree becomes open sky. The two judgments speak together. Going Up says the rise is real and that approaching someone important is favored. The resulting hexagram, 44 Lack of Firmness, warns of unsuitable people or situations close by, which you think you can control and don't take seriously; without firm limits, they'll end up controlling you. So as you climb, watch who comes with you. Success attracts people and offers that aren't all good for you. Be choosy. Set limits early, and notice old habits that pull you toward what harms you. The important meeting is worth making, but not every invitation that follows it is. Keep your footing as firmly as you kept climbing.
