Passion becomes Transition

What this change means

Fire above Water, a crossing not yet finished: the second and top lines of this figure stir. The top one leads. It warns of joy turned blind, pursued until it burns through itself, and it allows that the path can still be altered without fault if you see what's happened and slow down. The second supports it with a stone-steady watchfulness that senses when to press on and when to retreat. The resulting hexagram, 64 Transition, says things are coming together but some pieces haven't fallen into place, so stay alert against mistakes born of immaturity. The message is to cool down without giving up. Let the overheated part go, keep watching carefully, and tell things apart before acting. The crossing can still be made, just not in a rush.

  2. Line 2 of 16 Passion

  3. The judgment of 16 Passion

A time of passionate drive toward action. You can pass this passion on to others to gain their help, which lets you take on big projects with resolve and optimism. For these ventures to succeed and last, you can't look after only your own interests; you also need to keep in mind the needs of the people working with you.

It is favorable to install lords and set the army in motion.

  4. The judgment of 64 Transition

Things are coming together so that success can arrive and you can take on great projects, but some things still haven't fallen into place. So stay alert, so you don't make mistakes born of immaturity, or you'll drift from your goals. This can happen even after you've gotten what you want: you stop, you hesitate, and mistakes happen.

Success. The little fox has nearly crossed and wets its tail. Nothing is favorable.
