Simplicity becomes After the End

What this change means

Water stands over Fire as the first and fifth lines move, a picture of things finished and balanced for now. The fifth line leads. It asks you, if you hold some power, neither to abuse it nor to ignore the mistakes of others, but to observe and take measured action alongside your neighbors. The first line supports it with humility in its purest form: doing large things without pride, leaving no one to oppose you, crossing difficulty to a good end. The resulting hexagram, 63 After the End, says success is passing. Everything seems to favor you, and a period of stagnation tends to follow. So the movement asks for foresight more than celebration. Use your authority lightly, fix what needs fixing while things are calm, and prepare ahead of time. Thinking of trouble before it comes can soften whatever the end brings.

  4. The judgment of 63 After the End

Success in small things. Constancy is favorable. At first, good fortune; in the end, disorder.
