Changes app privacy policy

This is the policy of the Changes phone app. The website's own is here.

In short

Your questions, readings, notes and voice recordings are stored only on your phone, encrypted. There's no account and no server, and we never receive anything you write or say. The only things that use the internet are Google AdMob ads, the Fuxi Chat model download if you choose to use it, and the Google services that read QR codes and run augmented reality. None of them receive your questions or readings.

Who is responsible

Changes is an app by María Patricia, in Colombia. For any privacy question, write to astrologiamariapatricia@gmail.com.

What you keep in the app

  • Your readings: the question, the date, the result, how you cast and your notes. They stay on your phone, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key is kept in the system's secure storage (Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain). None of it is sent to us or anyone else.
  • Your voice, if you record a question or a voice note. The microphone is used only while you record, after you give permission. Each recording stays on your phone, encrypted with its own key, and is deleted when you delete its reading or note.
  • Your settings: the theme, the language, your casting choices, the sounds and Fuxi Chat's voice.

.cambios files and QR codes

You create them, when you choose to export or share. A .cambios file holds your readings and their recordings; you can protect it with a passphrase you choose. We don't keep that passphrase and can't recover it. A QR code holds a single reading, without recordings, and goes from one phone to another without using the internet. You decide where to save each file and who to share it with.

Camera, photos and motion

  • QR codes: the camera, or a photo you pick, is used only to read Changes QR codes. The code is read on the phone with Google ML Kit, and images are not stored or sent. ML Kit may send Google anonymous usage and diagnostic data (for example the phone model, the system version and whether the scan worked), under its terms.
  • Augmented reality: if you throw the coins on your table, the camera is used on the phone to find the surface; images are not stored or sent. On Android this runs on Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), which is provided by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Google may collect and process data under its ARCore terms.
  • Motion: the accelerometer and gyroscope are used to throw by shaking the phone and for the "Your movement" chance mode. That data is used in the moment, on the phone, and isn't stored: from "Your movement" the reading keeps only a short fingerprint they can't be recovered from.

Fuxi Chat

Fuxi Chat is an artificial intelligence that runs only on your phone. Your question and your reading never leave it.

  • The first time you use it, if you agree, the app downloads Google's Gemma 4 model (about 2.6 GB) from Hugging Face, the site that publishes it. That download fetches only the model file: it carries neither your question nor your reading. Like any site, Hugging Face receives your connection's IP address.
  • Answers aren't saved unless you choose to save them in a reading's notes.
  • Fuxi Chat can be wrong and doesn't replace a doctor, a lawyer, an accountant or any other professional.

Ads

Changes is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. They never appear while you cast or while you read your reading. To show them, Google's SDK may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (from which an approximate location is derived), device information and your interactions with ads. Google handles that data under its own policy: how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

  • Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads. On iPhone, cross-app tracking only happens if you allow it.
  • You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy, and in your phone's ad settings.
  • Your questions, readings, notes and recordings are never shared with Google or advertisers.

What we don't do

There's no sign-up or login. We add no analytics or crash-reporting tools (the ML Kit reports above go to Google, and we don't see them). We don't sell data, because we don't receive any.

How long data is kept and how to delete it

Your data stays on the phone until you delete it or uninstall the app. In Settings → Privacy you can delete each thing on its own (your readings and notes, your voice recordings, your settings, Fuxi Chat's model, temporary files) or everything at once with "Delete everything in this app". Since we keep nothing, there's no data of yours to delete on our side. Google keeps ad data under its own policy.

Your rights

We follow Colombia's personal data protection law, Law 1581 of 2012 (habeas data). You have the right to know, update, correct and delete your data. In Changes you do this directly in the app, because your data is on your phone. If you write to us, you can also exercise these rights over what you send us, and file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC).

Age

Changes is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change it, we'll post the new version on this page with its date.
